Vote for your favorite comforter!

Posted by lia1031 on August 28, 2005

I wasn’t satisfied by the “things” of Linens ‘n’ Things, and Bed Bath
and Beyond didn’t seem to go “beyond” enough for me. I was bored at
Room and Board. I must have missed the Target.

The clock was ticking to find a comforter for my dorm room.

So we ventured out to Schaumberg today to visit Ikea, the gargantuan furniture store.

I found two comforters that I liked, so we brought them both home, and eventually I’ll pick one of them.

And that’s where you all come in. Please vote for your favorite comforter. If you can provide reasons, you’re even cooler.

Option 1:

(In case you can’t imagine the full effect without a person sleeping in it, I have provided that for you.)
It has squares of goldish/orange, burgundy, light pink, red, and dark pink, and has a pillow to match.

Option 2:

This is a dark burgundy, sort of shiny/satin-y.

I’m torn between these two…please help! And if you are my roommate,
go to Northwestern, plan on visiting me often, or plan on looking at
pictures of my room often, please vote!

That doesn’t look like an NU dorm bed.

I guess I like the top one. I like that you encourage your roomie and potential friends to vote on it. After all, you just sleep under it, they look at it. It’s like houses: Always live in the ugliest house, then you don’t have to live in it.

Nah, it’s my bed in my room at home. Who are you?

    Ok, here’s my opinion:

It depends entirely on the image you want to cast to others.

1: If you want to give the image of “I’m in college, but i’m a child at heart! I love having a good time, and I’m perky!”
2: If you want to give the image of “I’m in college, and I’m here to have wild sex, or to make it look like I’m having said sex.”

    It’s lonely.

I like the top one…I think the dark burgundy is a little too plain. The other one is more colorful and exciting and just looked cooler to me.

    Go for #1.
#2 is definitely only for that bachelor pad look.

    Grrrr! The cursed Anonymous option.
Without it, you cannot get your friends’ opinions. [The friends sans livejournaux...]
With it, you get fucking IDIOTS who think they should actually be “anonymous.”

That’s not what it means dummy! You just piss off those of us who have manners and intelligence.

ok, its the roomies turn. im voting for the top one. i love that it has a bunch of different colors. itll fit into the random college dorm-ness. i do have to confess though, my comfortor (when it arrives from back order) is not burgundy. its actually white and blue and green. i personally think that my randomness would go better with the more random of your two options, aka the first one. plus that one’s lighter. but hey, the final decision is up to you. and really, in the end, it wont matter, because were gonna have the coolest room ever. no matter what our beds look like.

#1, because #2 looks like it’s from a sleazy hotel.

I definitely agree with the sleazy hotel comment. Go with #1
