“Solving the Journalism Crisis”: A think tank for the times

Posted by lia1031 on January 29, 2009

A piece I wrote for the Daily Northwestern’s Forum page yesterday gained national attention today when it was picked up by Romenesko, a well-known journalism blog (to find the link, search the page for “Medill”).

The article detailed my proposal that Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism create a course called “Solving the Journalism Crisis,” a think tank of students and professors working together to fix journalism’s problems. Jim Romenesko, the blog’s writer, linked to my article at the end of a post about another journalist trying to “save journalism.”

What do you think? Would you enroll in such a course? What would the syllabus look like? Leave a comment with your thoughts.

Thanks, Kodak EasyShare.

For more than three years, I’ve had a friend with me all the time. I’ve had a friend who was reliable, dependable, trustworthy and talented.

My digital camera.

But, unfortunately, the Kodak EasyShare CX7530 has reached the age of retirement. It has taken some great photos, though, and in its honor, I have created a slideshow of the best examples of my photography with this camera.

For more information on these photos, or to take a closer look at them, go here.
