Lia (Lehrer) Goldfarb grew up in Lincolnwood, Ill., graduated from Northwestern University with a major in Journalism and a minor in Hebrew Studies, and graduated from Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership with a Masters in Jewish Professional Studies. She has been a Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutor since 2002. Previously, she worked as the Membership and Communications Director at Temple Jeremiah in Northfield, and on the weekends focused her energy as a co-founder and committee member of Windy City Minyan, an independent minyan for 20- and 30-somethings in the Lakeview area.
In her free time (a rare, lovely gift), she likes to bake (ask her for her chocolate peanut butter oreo mousse cake recipe), listen to audio books, take pictures, do touristy activities in her beloved city of Chicago, and spend time with family and friends. She is married to Adam and they live together in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago with their daughter, Serena.
Lia maintains this blog as an attempt at humor — calling attention to aspects of life that are worth a chuckle. Life is funny, she says. Why not make fun of it?
